Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Research and Development Engineer to join our computer vision company. As a Research and Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge computer vision solutions. Your focus will be on engineering and deployment, rather than model training. Your expertise in coding with Python and C++, as well as experience with computer vision technologies such as GStreamer, OpenCV, TensorRT, PyTorch, CUDA, and other hardware acceleration libraries, will be critical in driving the development and deployment of our computer vision systems, including AI at the edge.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust and scalable computer vision solutions, emphasizing engineering and deployment aspects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into efficient and performant software solutions
- Develop and optimize computer vision algorithms for object detection, tracking, image processing, and other relevant tasks
- Utilize computer vision libraries and frameworks, such as GStreamer, OpenCV, TensorRT, and PyTorch, to build reliable and efficient systems
- Leverage hardware acceleration libraries like CUDA to optimize performance and utilize GPU capabilities for computationally intensive tasks
- Integrate computer vision algorithms with hardware accelerators and optimize performance on target platforms
- Design and implement data processing pipelines to handle large-scale image and video datasets efficiently
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in computer vision technologies and methodologies, and evaluate their applicability to improve our solutions
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to ensure the successful deployment of computer vision systems, including AI at the edge
- Document software designs, implementation details, and project progress to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in research and development, with a focus on computer vision technologies
- Strong coding skills in Python and C++, with an emphasis on software engineering best practices
- Experience with computer vision libraries and frameworks, such as GStreamer, OpenCV, TensorRT, and PyTorch
- Solid understanding of computer vision algorithms, including object detection, tracking, and image processing
- Proficiency in optimizing computer vision algorithms for efficient deployment on target platforms
- Experience with hardware acceleration libraries, such as CUDA, and utilizing GPU capabilities
- Familiarity with AI at the edge concepts and frameworks for deploying computer vision models on edge devices
- Experience in designing and implementing data processing pipelines for large-scale image and video datasets
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex software systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
